History

The Zambia Institute of Business Studies and Industrial Practice (ZIBSIP) is a Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (TVET) institution under the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) that operates as a government-aided institution under the governance of a Management Board.  ZIBSIP offers training through full time, part time and distance learning among other learning pathways.

It was established in 1993 in Kitwe to provide training in business courses and other related programmes. The institution started with only two programs that are Diploma in Secretarial and Certificate in Accounts and Business Studies (CABS), and grew to offering more than 15 business courses by the year 2000. In 2014 the institution introduced seven (7) education courses.

 The institution currently has approximately 78 members of staff, 60 on three year contracts and 18 on part time. ZIBSIP intends to start offering Degree programmes in Commercial Studies and Business Administration shortly.

Location

ZIBSIP is strategically located in the Central Business Centre of Kitwe, the hub of the Copperbelt Province. It is found on Plot 658 Corner of Kantanta Street and President Avenue. The college has easier access to stakeholders. Road transport to and from Kitwe is adequate.
